Trialling lower-carbon materials at our development projects

As part of our strategic commitment to delivering high quality, sustainable assets, Aliro’s Development Team recently deployed innovative low-carbon materials at ISPT’s Greystanes estate. These included Holcim’s ECOPact in the freezer base slab of Warehouse 6, which delivers significant embodied carbon savings, as well as Downer’s ‘Reconophalt’ in the car park at Warehouse 3, which diverts high recycled content materials from landfill.

Following this successful pilot, our Development Team is working with contractors on other projects to review opportunities to scale these products and other low-carbon materials that reduce embodied carbon without compromising the long-term performance of our assets.

Aliro is also working closely with industry bodies, contractors, and consultants on developing standard methods of embodied carbon measurement. By using consistent and verifiable data, we can benchmark the performance of our assets and quantify the carbon savings achievable through sustainable materials.
