Developer and investment manager Aliro has ended the year in big bash style by launching its Aliro Pathways Program (APP) and announcing a partnership with Australian, West Australian and Sydney Sixer cricketer, Josh Philippe.

The program was created to support athletes, both male and female across all manner of professional sport, in developing career pathways alongside their chosen sport and to assist with the transition of careers over time.

Josh Philippe, wicket-keeper for the Australian Cricket team and Sydney Sixers debuted Aliro as his new bat sponsor in the Big Bash League’s opening game against the Melbourne Renegades on Friday night.

“When presented with the opportunity I jumped at the chance. I work every day to set myself up for success in my sport, so it only makes sense to set my future self up for success too by participating in the Aliro Pathways Program.”

Aliro CEO Daniel Wise says the partnership program came about as a natural extension of the company’s vision to enrich people’s lives through positive property outcomes.

“We recognise the dedication and commitment young athletes have to their sport and the skills required to be at the top of their game. APP is designed to create an environment where we can assist a participant throughout their sporting career, help mentor and create pathways for professional development, and increase their exposure to career opportunities available to them outside of sport.”

“The program in essence will connect APP participants with the Aliro team and its diverse range of tenant customers across Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.”

Aliro’s Development Director and former St Kilda AFL player Jason Blake will take on the role as APP Ambassador having experienced the transition out of professional sport firsthand.

“Re-discovering your passion after devoting your life and reaching the pinnacle of your sport is confronting for all athletes. It’s a reality for most, but in the heat of the moment it’s often overlooked. The surprising thing is, if you embrace the challenge, the opportunity is limitless.”

“The program is about creating meaningful connections and opportunities. We have an extensive network and our aim is to help open doors for participants and see what we can create together.”

APP signifies a focus on people and partnerships, a key pillar of the company’s ESG strategy, and demonstrates Aliro’s commitment to creating positive and lasting relationships through regular engagement and support.

Aliro’s Pathways Program will expand in the new year with the announcement of a female participant.
